When you have been drinking, your judgement becomes impaired. Alcohol affects various cognitive functions, including decision-making, reasoning, and reaction times. This impairment can lead to poor decisions while driving, such as misjudging distances, speeds, and the behavior of other road users. As a result, a person under the influence may not only fail to accurately assess their own driving capabilities but also misinterpret traffic signs and signals. Impaired judgement increases the likelihood of accidents, making it crucial for drivers to avoid alcohol consumption before operating a vehicle.

The other options do not align with the established effects of alcohol on the human body, as alcohol consumption does not enhance judgement or leave it unchanged. It also does not only affect speed judgement; the effects of alcohol are broad and can influence overall driving capabilities.
